The Rebuilding East Ninth Together Team is now accepting applications for Youth Corps members.  Applications are available on the Rebuilding East Ninth website:  Full details can be found in the job description and application listed on the above website. Applications are due November 25th. Questions can be directed to Youth Corps Coordinator Richard Renner at

The goal of the Youth Corps is to support young artists in (or with roots in, or ties to) East Lawrence in learning and creating, providing life skills and public art experience to carry into adulthood. Youth Corps artists can make art individually, as part of a group, or through their school.  Projects can be permanent, temporary, event based, and any medium. Projects must be public, in a place where people can see or experience them. We are especially interested in projects and artists who are committed to their community and will give their creative energy toward art with a little extra thought! Positions are open to all youth 18(ish) and younger.  Each selected Youth Corps kid will receive $1000 financial compensation.

Our Youth Corps coordinator, Richard, will hold public presentations to help explain and guide anyone who wants to apply on Saturday November 2nd, 3:30-5pm and November 16th, 3:30 -5pm in one of the downstairs meeting rooms.

Richard will also hold one-on-one consultation on Mondays November 4th, 4-6pm and November 18th, 4-6pm at an upstairs study room at the Lawrence Public Library.

Or, you can schedule a presentation to your group, or a personal meeting with Richard, by contacting him at the email or phone number listed below.

As always, you can contact Richard or any member of the Rebuilding Ninth Street Team.
